rough draft

Here goes... I am almost completely finished making my 101 in 1001 list. I even tried to separate the items into different categories. I don't feel like I am completely done. I definitely need to edit the list. I want to make a few things a little more clear and measurable. I also might get rid of some of the ideas, and add new ones.

I'm posting this on here so I can get some editing help from you all before I begin. Help me out. What goals sound weak? How can I improve on the items in this list? Can you think of anything I should add. Critique it; share your opinions....

i am a tease

so here are just a few ideas. i'm even having trouble figuring out what ideas i want to share before i start!!! lol. well i'm up to about 85 on my list, so thats good... i'm almost there. once i get to 101, i just need to edit it (you'll see why when you see my rambling ideas to follow), post it and then begin.

so here are some ideas. for those of you which know me through my other blog there and back again, do you have any ideas for me? is there anything you think i should add to my 101 in 1001??? all ideas will be very welcome!

random ideas i have so far:
1. make a wine cork filled frame from corks of wine bottles i have shared. on each cork, write the date and who i drank with. try to take pictures of at least a few of the cork experiences.

2. make a “mixtape” of my favorite song each week for one year. that’s only 52 weeks

3. learn how to tie a tie. i know, i’m not a man. but i always think it is so romantic for a woman to tie a mans tie, and i do not know how to do it.

4. go grape stomping and make wine.

5. complete the urban alphabet photograph project

6. support local artists, whether it be musicians or artists, and non-chain restaurants as often as possible.

7. ride an elephant.

8. send flowers to 3 different people for no reason

9. write a handwritten letter to my ten favorite living authors.

10. do 5 "tourist-y" things in my own city, or very close to home.

being a tease at heart, i will leave you with that for now... don't forget to share your suggestions!

when to start?

well hello again! i guess its time for an update, even though i do not have very much to say...

originally, when i asked erik if i could join in on the 101 in 1001 project, my idea was to begin on january 1, 2009. i figured, with the holidays and all, i'd be busy and probably not put much effort into starting my goals. plus, we're always more motivated to accomplish goals in the early stages, so i didn't want to start out on the wrong foot. yesterday, i was getting so excited about starting the project that i had hoped to begin it today.

that won't be possible.

i'm only at about 51 goals out of the 101. i think i'm trying to make them specific, while at the same time making sure i don't forget anything. i'm actually worried i might be making these goals a little too hard to accomplish. but you know what, you've go big or go home.

so, who knows when i will start. i plan on absolutely starting the 1001 days on january 1st at latest. if i can finish my list before then, i'll start before that date.

either way, i've got one exciting 1001 days in my future.

and so it begins...

well, well, well. it looks as if i have a project to begin. i've been browsing through the blog community and happened to stumble upon an idea i really wanted to steal. but seeing as how stealing is actually not a nice thing to do, i decided to ask for permission to join erik and his friends in challenging myself as well.

here is the idea for 101 in 1001 as defined by erik.

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (i.e., no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e., represent some amount of work on your part)

this is what i would like to add to that...

my rules: try and photograph each task. must photograph 75% of the tasks. For every task that i do not complete. i am going to donate 5 dollars to a charity of my choosing. i was thinking about picking just one charity, but i’ve changed my mind. i’m going to pick a few different charities. i’ll make sure to post which ones i choose as soon as possible. thats all i have for the time being!

p.s. along with erik, i should probably thank his friends brandon, collins, jaime (especially because he is a red sox fan!), and kenny for having such interesting lists which helped inspire mine. oh, and good luck guys. let me know if there is anyway i can help you with your lists :)
